Right now you can always check Windows Update, have it search for updates and install all that it finds, "most" of Intels Windows 10 drivers are available through Windows Update. The Surface Pro 3 has mostly recent hardware so the support for it should come along. The graphics drivers (the programs that tell your graphics hardware how to work properly) for a lot of the Intel based computers are not really up to speed with Windows 10 yet. Windows 10 edition will almost certainly run better, it's a version of Minecraft designed to run on tablets and mobile devices (in other words, the code is a lot better and a lot of the fat is trimmed to make it run on mobile devices) that has been ported to a Windows 10 store app. You may be able to use the Windows 10 edition of Minecraft which is basically PE ported to a Win10 store app, and is designed to run on tablets and mobile devices running Windows 10.Īgain, I'm not 100% sure, doing a bit of research people have apparently ran Minecraft with okay performance, but I'm fairly certain running the PC edition which is insanely unoptimised on a tablet isn't a good idea. Minecraft is designed for PC, for computers so it's not guaranteed they will work on all mobile devices, regardless if it's running Win10. In other words, they're tablets, not computers. The Surface and Surface Pro are basically tablets that double as business laptops with detachable keyboards. Your problem is likely the fact that you're trying to run it on a tablet. So my question is: Will the regular Minecraft Edition work with Windows 10 on a Surface Pro 3? If so, what is wrong on my end? If not, no further questions. Is it my computer specs? Is it Windows 10? Is my computer only meant for the Windows 10 Edition of Minecraft?
To sum up, Minecraft (the regular edition) is having a lot of problems and is hardly working at all on my Surface Pro 3, which is running Windows 10. Also, whenever I went to the resource packs menu, a lot of the screen was cropped out. First of all, the game would take forever to start, and once it did, there were lag spikes every two seconds. However, there were a lot of problems when I tried it. So here's why I'm posting the experience is not going so well for me. That said, I would still like the play to original Minecraft on my Surface Pro 3. When I played it, I noticed that there was a lot of stuff missing, which is completely normal for a beta. The first thing I did when I set it up was get my free copy of the Minecraft: Windows 10 Beta. I have recently gotten a Surface Pro 3 as a birthday present, which was already updated to Windows 10 when I got it.
